Seth Brizek was the co-captain of Clemson’s ACC Champion, Regional Champion, and World Series Team in 1995 when he earned All-American honors as a shortstop. Drafted in the 8th round by the Seattle Mariners in 1995 as a shortstop / pitcher, he earned several club honors over his 4 year career. Seth was an instructor and then owner / operator of Atlanta, GA’s indoor “Ballpark of North Fulton” since 1999 before moving on to further baseball endeavors. As an associate scout for the Atlanta Braves he trained Atlanta’s 2nd round pick in ’03 and the Pirates 3rd round pick, Eddie Prasch, in ’04. He is now scouting for the Texas Rangers and living in Seneca, SC with his wife Dory and 5 year old son Kidd. As owner of Blue Chip Baseball he will continue his 14 years of professional instruction here in upstate SC.
Major League pitcher Britt Reames is from Seneca, SC and played his college baseball at the Citadel. Britt also played in the Cape Cod League with Seth, has been in professional baseball for 13 years, and has too many honors to list. Britt is now retired from major league baseball and wil be at Blue Chip full time. Britt's knowledge and experience is unmatched, and he is excited to continue teaching baseball to our local players.
Eddie Prasch is a former Blue Chip student from '00-'04 in Atlanta, Georgia. He played his High School baseball at Milton High School where he earned All-American honors and was selected in the 3rd round of the MLB Draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates. Eddie is still with the Pirates and will be giving hitting, fielding, and pitching lessons until it's time to return to spring training. Call today to reserve your lessons with Eddie. Jay Cribb comes to us as a former Anderson College pitcher. Jay lead AC in wins in '97, '98 and ERA in '98. He also spent time as an infielder while in college and is well versed in the mechanics of hitting and fielding as a position player. Jay has baseball in the family and is an older brother to former Clemson University standout Josh Cribb. Jay and his wife currently live in Anderson and have two children; Jaden (5) and Cadence (2). Garrett Holmes is from Woodruff, SC and is our newest addition to the Blue Chip staff. Garrett was 2 time All-Region in HS and went on to play his college ball at USC Upstate for coach Matt Fincher. After being voted Pitcher of the Year as a senior in '05, Garrett became an Assistant Baseball Coach at Upstate from '05-'06. Welcome aboard Garrett!
Rusty Rhodes is a fomer Clemson Tiger outfielder from Iva, SC. Rusty spent over 3 years owning his own indoor facility in Anderson, SC and is now on the Blue Chip staff part time. Rusty specializes in hitting instruction, is obviously very knowledgable in all facets of the game, and also is excellent with our softball hitters.
Coach Chris Carter coaches our 18U fall team with Seth Brizek. Chris caught at Clemson for 2 years and spent some time in professional baseball in the Milwaukee Brewers organization. He has 11 plus years of HS teaching and coaching experience in Florida and is now the head coach of Byrnes HS in South Carolina. He will be available for lessons this fall through the beginning of the HS baseball season.
